  • We spent the day picking blueberries! It was very nostalgic because I used to do this as a little girl with my grandmother (we even had a cat named blueberry that we found as a kitten while picking berries).   • Frank, my Father-in-Law, was born in the little town of Shelburne, Nova Scotia, Canada. He brought John back every summer of his childhood to visit the place he grew up in! I was lucky enough to visit this special place on several occasions, and I hope that someday soon, we will be able to take Frankie to visit as well.   • I frequently see new moms sharing about how “being a mother is the hardest and the most rewarding job ever.” I never truly understood what that meant. Everyday I ponder if I’m doing a good enough job at being Frankie’s mom, and as I navigate being her mom, I’ve realized that motherhood isn’t about learning her needs and how to care for her, it’s about getting to know myself and my identity as a mom. It’s exploring this door, one that I didn’t know even existed in my soul, that Frankie opened for me. We walk through it together and explore more each day. She’s helping me understand what it means to be a mom and who I am. One thing I know for sure is that becoming a mom has allowed me to really SEE my own mom, and mother-in-Law and I am even more grateful to them. Happy Mother’s Day 💕
